Graphic Design… and why I hate it.

I’m well versed in the practice.

I have put time into studying the theory.

My applicational knowledge of aesthetics and composition is off the charts.

But art isn’t my job. To sound super pretentious: Art is my passion. And making art for other people is rarely a fun endeavor. But if you bring me a design idea, I will tell you why it sucks (or doesn’t) and why I won’t attach my name to that idea (or will).
I will do it for the low, low price of 250 ALIAS, though (and that comes with up to 3 small changes). So it never hurts to ask. The worst I can say is “No.”

Below are a few things I may be persuaded to do.

  • Logo Work

    My personal philosophy on Logos is that businesses should always have two logos. One image based logo and one text based.
    ABOVE is a design I did for a sign at my current business (teaching English in Korea). If you click BELOW you can see how I used these two aspects to create multiple visual assets to market what currently puts food in my mouth-hole..

  • Promotional Imagery

    These can be fun. Usually the clients just want art, which I am okay with. The piece above I’m particularly proud of. I usually spend long periods of time on my art. This event was happening in 3 weeks at the time of creation so I had to bang it out in 2 days and it was tidied up and printed on the 3rd. I’ve done art for bands, and album covers, as I find them in files (or IF I can find them) I will link them below.

  • Biznazz Cards

    Just between you and me. I kind of like doing these. The restrictions in space really create an environment that is conducive to being creative with limitations on the opposite end of my typical spectrum. I also think that a well-designed, high quality business card speaks fathoms to the quality of the business that you are presenting. The image above are the ones that I designed, and had created, for my day-job. I haven’t given one out that hasn’t immediately received a compliment, yet.

Completed Projects

Here you can find some of the projects I have completed for my very rare clients. These will appear as I get a wild hair and feel like explaining a process. So don’t expect to see this updated a lot. If you click the logos below you can follow my process in creating these designs. It’s a lot more complicated than it looks and I’ll try to make it as interesting as possible because let’s face it… logos aren’t very visually interesting. All of the neat parts come with the psychological effects they are designed to induce.
